Respect

Respect ..... how do one receive it, how do one give it, when should one give it, and how should one react when they do not receive it ..... ..does maintaining respect to those who disrespect you is in a way you disrespecting yourself for continuing to tolerate the disrespect

Respect is defined as
1. To recognize the worth, quality, importance, or magnitude of
2. A feeling of deference, approval, and liking
3. Willingness to show consideration or appreciation.

How do one receive it?
You can either demand it, give it and others feed off of it and give it back to you, or some may simply give it to you whether you give it to them or not.

How do one give it?
Saying that you do onto others as you will want others to do unto you is not necessarily giving others respect. To some extent that may be respect. However respect comes from satisfy the other person way of life/ approach to life. Example, some cultures believe that eye contact is a sense of disrespect ehile others find it as respect. If the person who culture does not tolerate eye contact refuses to look at the culture that do, is that person being disrespectful. Hmm, in a way he just may be. By upholding his cultural respect he has disrespected the next person culture although to that person he was infact giving/displaying to him respect. (paradox)

When should one give it?
Respect should be given at all times. Now it is the amount of respect that one must decide should be given. Respectfully disrespecting a person. We hear it all the time. Example... some saying, "no disrespect, but you are a selfish little bitch."

How should one react when they do not receive it?
It all depends on your morals and values.... you can continue to not be rude to thr person yet show them no form of respect. Respect does not automatically mean showing others kidness. But how should one react, I say brush it off and keep it moving. Now the question is if one do not show you respect are they disrespecting you? Meaning is there any other form of behavior that can be brought in between respect and then disrectect, what behavior is in between?

Does maintaining respect to those who disrespect you is in a way you disrespecting yourself for continuing to tolerate the disrespect?.................. open ended question
